La marca americana de todoterrenos se limita a mostrarnos su gama, no trae ninguna novedad gorda. Lo más moderno que aparece es el Jeep Cherokee, en el mercado desde Febrero y presentado el año pasado. Sólo se vende con la motorización 2.8 CRD con cambio manual o automático, por 37.395 € y 41.680 € respectivamente.

Para la gama Jeep Commander aparece un nuevo equipamiento, Overland, que se estrena en este Salón. Se trata del nuevo tope de gama e incluye volante de cuero y madera, paneles de madera en la parte superior del salpicadero, apoyabrazos y asideros en cuero… El Commander Overland se vende con el 3.0 V6 CRD por 55.440 €. El acabado inicial, Laredo, sale con el mismo motor por 43.150 euros. Entremedias está el Limited.

Pues según las malas lenguas, posiblemente sí. Pero lo hará renovando su chasis y adaptando su carrocería a las 7 plazas del Jeep Commander. Pero para esto aún queda, porque se estima que el cese de su producción no llegue hasta 2010.

La estrategia de Jeep con el Jeep Commander no ha funcionado como se esperaba, ya que en lugar de atraer nuevos clientes, se ha llevado los potenciales clientes del Jeep Grand Cherokee a su terreno.

Para la sustitución, se habla de compartir el chasis con Mercedes-Benz, lo que demuestra que las sinergías entre Daimler AG y Chrysler LLC aún seguirán activas bastante tiempo.

Eso sí, que no le falte motor. Dispone de dos motorizaciones, una en diésel (CRD V6 de 218 CV) y otra en gasolina (V8 5.7L y 326 CV) y su precio, como siempre por las nubes, oscila entre los 51.350 euros de la versión diésel a los 55.700 euros que cuesta el gasolina. Con sus 7 plazas, como autobús para ir al campo con los crios no debe estar mal…
