<p>En el pasado <a rel="noopener, noreferrer" href="https://www.motorpasion.com/categoria/sema-show">SEMA Show</a> vimos el prototipo al que llamaron <a rel="noopener, noreferrer" href="https://www.motorpasion.com/2006/11/01-2007-shelby-mustang-gt500-professional-road-racer">2007 Shelby Mustang GT500 Professional Road Racer</a> y dije que lástima que seguramente quedase en un prototipo. Pues no, otra vez mis vaticinios al garete, Ford lo ha puesto a la venta, por un precio de <strong>225.000 dólares</strong> (169.000 euros), bajo el nombre de <strong>Ford Mustang FR500GT</strong>.</p>

<p>Si alguna vez soñaste con tener alguno de los 25 <a rel="noopener, noreferrer" href="https://www.motorpasion.com/2005/06/30-ford-mustang-fr500c-25-bestias-de-competicion">Ford Mustang FR500C</a> que salieron a la venta hace un tiempo, ahora con el FR500GT tu sueños se habrán esfumado, porque no tiene nada que ver una cosa con la otra. Este <strong>Mustang FR500GT</strong> tiene de Mustang el nombre y partes de la carrocería, lo demás, todo de competición.<br /></p>

<p>De hecho, internamente en Ford a los FR500C se les conoce como los <em>Boy Racers</em>. Al FR500GT lo han bautizado con el título de <em>Man Racer</em>. Una vez he leído su comportamiento en pista, me parece que ya se porqué lo dicen. Preparado exclusivamente para un circuito, no sólo para carreras de aceleración, <strong>el probador de Car And Driver comenta que ha llegado antes a su propio límite que al del Mustang FR500GT</strong>. Creo que queda bien claro para que está diseñado este coche, ya que no creo que este tipo sea manco probando coches&#8230;</p>

<p>Sus prestaciones se acercan bastante a las de un gran deportivo, ya que arrancado desde parado tarda apenas <strong>3,9 segundos</strong> en poner a 100 km/h y el cuarto de milla <em>se lo ventila</em> en <strong>12,1 segundos a 197 km/h</strong>. No especifican velocidad máxima, pero durante las pruebas, han alcanzado los <strong>276 km/h</strong>. No está nada mal para un hierro de estos <em>yankees</em>...</p>

<p>Su motor es el mismo <strong>Cammer 5.0 V8</strong> que llevaba el prototipo. El bloque es de aluminio, su distribución es un DOHC (doble árbol de levas en cabeza), 32 válvulas (sí, un americano con 4 válvulas por cilindro). Y aquí llegará otra vez la polémica&#8230; Su potencia declarada es de <strong>534 bhp</strong> (SAE) y su par motor se queda en <strong>600 Nm</strong> (SAE). Estas medidas están tomadas en el volante de inercia del motor, así que la potencia a las ruedas traseras será algo menos, dependiendo de la calidad de los componentes.</p>

<p>Aunque si sólo la caja de cambios <strong>Hollinger</strong>, una secuencial de 6 velocidades, cuesta <strong>12.000 dólares</strong>, podemos esperar que la diferencia de potencia sea un 10% menos medida en las ruedas.</p>

Ferpecto, digo&#8230; Perfecto. Este es el rey del stand de Ford en el <strong>SEMA Show</strong>, el <strong>2007 Shelby Mustang GT500 Professional Road Racer</strong>, un prototipo pensado exclusivamente para los circuitos y diseñado para rendir honores a ese hombre que tanto ha hecho por los Mustang, <strong>Carroll Shelby</strong>.</p>

<p>Su estética recuerda al <a rel="noopener, noreferrer" href="http://www.seriouswheels.com/top-2005-Ford-Mustang-GT-R-Concept.htm">2005 Ford Mustang GT-R Concept</a>, pero aún más agresivo, si cabe. Comparte con él el <strong>motor Cammer 5.0</strong>, que según los datos que dan, <strong>supera los 500 CV del GT500 de serie</strong>. Cuenta además con tres posiciones para la suspensión, adaptables a cualesquiera que sean las condiciones del circuito y pinzas de 6 y 4 pistones, delante y detrás.</p>

<p>La única pega que tiene, que es un prototipo y posiblemente jamás salga al mercado. Aún así, esperemos que Ford se decida a darle un par de vueltas por un circuito y grabe algún vídeo de él, escucharlo debe ser como escuchar música celestial.<br /></p>
